How do I know that I will be able to get a boat?
You simply make a reservation. Your reservation guarantees your use of the Club. Each Member has equal access to the reservation system up to six weeks in advance. You control how often you go boating.
The Club maintains a ratio (7:1) of members to boats that preserves the availability of the boats. Statistics, history, and common sense dictate that every Member is not available to go boating at the same time. Since our inception in 2006, there has never been a fully booked weekend in our Club.
You can test making a reservation right now…please ask one of our staff members if you there is a boat available for the next time you would be able to go boating.
How do reservations and scheduling work?
Reservations are made by phone or email up to six weeks in advance. One reservation equals a single AM or PM visit; AM is considered between 9am-1pm and PM is considered between 2pm and 6pm or closing.
Reservations can be aligned in order to take a boat for an entire day, or even multiple days. The Premier Membership allows you to book two weekday and two weekend reservations at any one time, use or cancel a reservation to make a new one.
What types of boats are in the Club?
The Club features a variety of first class quality boats specifically chosen to meet a variety of our members’ needs and the conditions of Lake Hopatcong. Your fleet currently includes a luxurious Four Winns cabin cruiser, a deluxe bow rider by Azure, a no-nonsense fishing boat by Polar, and a well-appointed and nimble Odyssey triple-pontoon boat.
What if I am new to boating?
No problem. We can help you arrange a NJ boating course so you can obtain your boating license. All Members are trained on each boat to assure that you and your family are safe and comfortable.
Can I bring guests on the boat?
Yes. You may bring as many guests as are safely allowed on each boat. Some boats in our fleet can accommodate as many as 10-12 people.
Am I a good candidate for the Bridge Marina Boating Club?
You are a good candidate for the Boating Club if you enjoy boating already, or if you are looking to experience boating for the first time. You are a good candidate if you want someone else to deal with the normal hassles, commitments, confusion or issues that can come with owning a boat. You are a good candidate if you want access to different types of boats based on your needs. You are a good candidate if you have limited vacation time available and want to make the most of your time.
You may not be a good candidate if you prefer to do your own boat maintenance and care, or if you have a lot of free unconstrained time to deal with your boat. You may not be a good candidate if you can not plan a day or so in advance or if you’re looking for just one boat to suit all your needs.
What are the dates of the season?
The Club season begins on May 1st and goes through October 1st. Weather permitting; our season gives you 152 days of carefree summer fun.
How long have you been doing the Boating Club at Bridge Marina? What sets you apart from the competition?
Bridge Marina has been in the marine business for 54 years, serving boaters and operating a successful marina on Lake Hopatcong, which is where we noticed how much boaters love boating, but dislike the commitments of owning a boat. 2011 marks the fifth year we are offering the Bridge Marina Boating Club, although Bridge Marina has been providing turn-key marine service to demanding customers for the better part of a century.
Bridge Marina offers Lake Hopatcong’s only boating club, and is the only NJDEP Certified Freshwater Clean Marina in New Jersey. Bridge Marina was nationally recognized by Marina Dock Age Magazine as the 2010 Marina of the Year and we are the first marina in New Jersey to ever win this prestigious award.
Is the club some sort of fractional ownership or time-share?
No. Bridge Marina owns and maintains the equipment and you gain a membership to use the facilities for the membership term, just as you might join a gym. You simply join the Boating Club for season.
What about boating safety equipment?
Safety is very important to us. Each boat is equipped with proper safety devices for your safety and protection.
Is insurance included in my membership?
Yes. Insurance is included in your membership.
Are local maps and charts included?
Yes. Each boat is equipped with a chart of Lake Hopatcong as well as a depth finder. Our helpful and friendly staff will be glad to guide or advise you on fun spots around the lake.
Does Membership include the fuel?
No. Precise on-board fuel flow meters record the fuel used during your trip and you are invoiced for the specific amount of fuel consumed. An average trip uses approximately $20 in fuel (based on 2010 fuel prices).
What happens if there is a problem with a boat while we are using it?
Bridge Marina has an experienced service department with tow boat ready to assist you.
What if I decide the club is not for me?
The Bridge Marina Boating Club is so confident of our product that we offer a 30-day money back guarantee. If you find that the Boating Club is not a better alternative to owning a boat, or if being a Boating Club member does not suit your lifestyle, you will only be charged for your usage of the Club and the balance of your Membership Dues will be refunded.
What am I waiting for?
Don’t wait too long…there are a limited number of memberships available for 2011, after which you will have to wait until 2012 to enjoy boating!
